When something goes wrong
What Creator's error messages mean, whether you were charged, and what to do next.
Updated
When something goes wrong, Creator tells you whether anything was spent. Here's what each message means and what to do.
"I can't check this message right now"
I can't check this message right now, so I haven't planned anything. Please try again in a moment.
Every message is checked before Creator plans anything, and that check didn't answer in time. Nothing was planned and nothing was spent. Send the same message again.
"Planning took too long"
Planning took too long. Nothing was changed; try again.
This can happen on a long scene in a project. Nothing changed and nothing was spent. Tap the scene again to plan it.
If you see "That took too long. Nothing was planned or spent; try again." in the chat, send your message again.
A run that failed
A run that fails gives its credits back on its own. The card says so, for example "Something on our side stopped this run", with how many credits came back and a note that nothing was charged. Press Retry to run it again, or Edit prompt to change it first.
All your failed runs are in your Library under Failed.
A shoot that couldn't finish
If some shots in a shoot can't render, the shoot ends on its own and Creator tells you which shots, for example "Shot 3 couldn't render". The credits for those shots come back to your balance (or to your free trial, if that's what paid).
- If the rest of the film came out, Creator cuts the missing shots and your first cut is ready.
- If it didn't, Creator keeps the frames that did come out, so the next shoot only charges for what's missing.
Either way, press Shoot it on the board to try again.
When you press Shoot it
Nothing is spent in any of these:
- "Prices moved since this quote. Here's the fresh one." Check the new price and press Shoot it again.
- "That price ran out. Here's a fresh one; nothing was spent." Same as above.
- "You have 120 credits · short by 45 credits": the shoot costs more than your balance. Press Top up to add credits, or Make it fit to re-plan it on cheaper models; that button shows the new price before you press it.
- "This would go over the project's budget cap." Ask Creator to make it cheaper, or to fit the cap.
Creator can't see an earlier picture
Each chat only knows what's in it. In a new chat, "make the picture from before but bigger" won't find it. Attach the picture, or open it from your Library and use it as a reference.
